By Bruce Braithwaite.

Izaak Walton was born in Stafford in 1593. His Compleat Angler is a world best seller, never out of print since 1653. Though everyone in Stafford knows his name the importance of his work is not properly appreciated and his life still has some mysteries. Local historian Bruce Braithwaite has written a new biography for Imagining Staffordshire explaining why Izaak Walton is such an important character.
